About BMW X1 LWB
Model overview
The BMW X1 Long Wheelbase is a stretched version of the X1, produced locally at BMW Group Plant Chennai and sold alongside the standard X1. At 4,616 mm long with a 2,800 mm wheelbase, 108 mm longer than the standard car, it is the longest model in its class. It comes in a single sDrive18Li M Sport variant at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹49,90,000, and went on sale on 21 August 2026.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre three-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine producing 115 kW (156 hp) and 230 Nm from 1,500 to 4,600 rpm. It drives the front wheels through a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, with a claimed 0 to 100 km/h time of 9.3 seconds and fuel economy of 15.5 km/l. A comfort suspension tuned for the longer wheelbase and 50:50 weight distribution aim to combine a supple ride with composed handling.
The extra length goes into the rear cabin, which gains 150 mm of legroom and 109 mm of knee room, with longer seat cushions and backrests that recline up to 28.5 degrees. The 540-litre boot expands to 1,700 litres with the 40:20:40 rear seats folded. Standard equipment includes Adaptive LED headlights, a 9 sq ft panorama glass roof, the Widescreen Curved Display with a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 10.7-inch touchscreen running BMW Operating System 9, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Comfort Access 2.0 with BMW Digital Key Plus, Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera and reversing assistant, eight airbags, and driver assistance that covers automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot assistance and rear collision warning.
