GWM

GWM is an automotive brand associated with China. Its commonly cited modern founding or brand-launch year is 1984, and its headquarters or principal operating base is in Baoding, Hebei. Understanding that background is important because some names began as independent companies, while others were created later as specialist marques within larger automotive groups. Great Wall Motor was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Baoding. The company’s early growth came from utility vehicles and pickup trucks, followed by SUVs and a broader passenger-vehicle business. It became a publicly listed Chinese automaker and progressively invested in overseas production and research. GWM is especially famous for pickups and SUVs, categories that shaped its reputation for value and durability. It later developed a multi-brand structure to separate mainstream SUVs, off-road luxury, electric mobility and premium products.
