Denza

Denza is an automotive brand associated with China. Its commonly cited modern founding or brand-launch year is 2010, and its headquarters or principal operating base is in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Understanding that background is important because some names began as independent companies, while others were created later as specialist marques within larger automotive groups. Denza was founded in May 2010 as a 50:50 new-energy vehicle joint venture between BYD and Daimler. The brand name appeared in 2012 and its first production EV reached customers in 2014. BYD increased its ownership during the 2020s and became the sole owner in 2024. The original partnership combined BYD’s battery and electric-drive knowledge with German premium-vehicle engineering experience.
