Lexus Korea has launched the all-new eighth-generation ES in South Korea, and for the first time the long-running luxury sedan is offered as a full EV. The entry ES 350e Premium starts at KRW 71.6 million, which is KRW 1.3 million less than the ES 350h Premium hybrid at KRW 72.9 million.

Why the EV undercutting the hybrid matters
Luxury brands usually charge a premium for electric versions. Here, the cheapest electric ES costs less than the cheapest hybrid, which removes the usual price barrier for buyers weighing a switch. For hybrid loyalists, the decision now turns on charging access and driving patterns rather than sticker price.
Battery, range and charging
The ES 350e uses a 74.69 kWh battery and is listed at up to 478 km of combined range. It supports 150 kW DC fast charging and 11 kW AC, with a 10-80% top-up quoted at about 28 minutes at 25°C.
The ES 500e adds Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel drive and up to 347 hp, with a quoted range of 435 km for the ES 500e Premium. Range for other trims may differ with wheel size and equipment.
Range warning: these are Korean certification figures and are not directly comparable with WLTP or CLTC numbers. Cold weather and highway speeds will reduce real-world range.
Size
The new ES measures 5,140 mm long and 1,920 mm wide on a 2,950 mm wheelbase, keeping its role as a spacious executive sedan with plenty of rear legroom.
What remains unconfirmed
Full equipment lists by trim and range figures for every ES 500e version were not detailed in launch coverage. Buyers in South Korea should check the brochure and a dated written quotation, including any subsidy eligibility, before booking.
Is it coming to Pakistan?
Not confirmed. There is no announced Pakistan launch for the electric ES, and KRW prices should not be converted into an expected local figure, since import duties, taxes and freight would change the final cost significantly.
Bottom line
The eighth-generation ES is a notable step for Lexus in South Korea: an electric luxury sedan from KRW 71.6 million that undercuts its own hybrid sibling. Treat it as an overseas launch for now, and wait for official word before expecting it locally. To see how charging fits your routine, try the CarvoltX EV charging time tool.
