Toyota has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition in India at ₹36.51 lakh for the manual and ₹38.72 lakh for the automatic, both ex-showroom. Bookings open on 12 October 2026. This special edition is a cosmetic package: mechanically it is the same as other 4x2 (two-wheel-drive) Fortuner versions. Leader Editions also appeared in 2024 and 2025, but those arrived as dealer-level options.
2026 Fortuner Leader Edition prices
| Variant | Price (ex-showroom) |
|---|---|
| Leader Edition 4x2 MT | ₹36.51 lakh |
| Leader Edition 4x2 AT | ₹38.72 lakh |
The automatic costs ₹2.21 lakh more than the manual. Three colours are offered: Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black. The Silver Metallic option offered on older Leader Editions has been dropped.
What changes on the outside
| 1 | A different front grille finished in black. |
|---|---|
| 2 | A more aggressive front bumper with black and silver trim. |
| 3 | Bold "TOYOTA" lettering on the bonnet. |
| 4 | 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black. |
| 5 | A dual-tone black roof and black trim on the tailgate. |
Inside the cabin
The interior gets dual-tone black and maroon upholstery with matching door trims, plus ambient lighting and illuminated door sills. Other listed features include auto-folding outside mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Ambient lighting aside, almost all of these features were also available on the 2025 Leader Edition.
Engine and gearbox
Power comes from the familiar 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel used across much of the Fortuner range. It makes 204hp. Torque is 500Nm with the six-speed automatic and 420Nm with the six-speed manual. The Leader Edition is offered only with two-wheel drive (4x2), so buyers who need 4x4 will have to look at other Fortuner variants.
For running costs, diesel was ₹95.20 a litre in Delhi on 10 October. Check the latest rate in your city on our India fuel prices tool.
Is the Leader Edition worth it?
That depends on how much you value the look. There are no mechanical upgrades, and most of the features were already offered on last year's version. If you like the blacked-out styling and the black and maroon cabin, it is a factory-backed way to get it. If you want 4x4 or more equipment, the standard range may make more sense.
What buyers in India should check
| 1 | Ask for the full on-road price in your city, including registration and insurance, not just the ex-showroom figure. |
|---|---|
| 2 | Compare the Leader Edition with the equivalent standard 4x2 variant side by side, so you know exactly what the premium buys. |
| 3 | Check festive offers on the standard Fortuner before deciding; dealer benefits vary by city and stock. |
| 4 | Confirm the delivery timeline when you book on or after 12 October. |
Bottom line
The 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition is a styling update priced from ₹36.51 lakh ex-showroom, built on the 204hp 2.8-litre diesel 4x2. It is aimed at buyers who want a sportier-looking Fortuner without changing what lies beneath. For the wider festive picture, see our Navratri 2026 car offers guide and follow the CarVoltX blog.
