Leapmotor keeps its 100,000 run going
Leapmotor delivered a record 106,127 cars, its fourth month in a row above 100,000. From January to October it has delivered 772,666 cars, about 77% of its one million target for 2026, so it needs around 113,700 a month in November and December to get there.
Xpeng's best month, helped by exports
Xpeng delivered 50,237 cars, its first month above 50,000. A record 13,326 of those went overseas, up 166% on a year ago and about a quarter of the total.
Xiaomi's best month of the year
Xiaomi Auto said it delivered more than 50,000 cars, its highest monthly total this year, without giving an exact figure.
Nio, Li Auto and HIMA slip
Nio Inc delivered 34,246 cars across its three brands (Nio 18,125, Onvo 8,383 and a record 7,738 for Firefly), its first year-on-year fall since February 2024. Li Auto delivered 29,025, its lowest since February. The Huawei-led HIMA alliance delivered 33,537, roughly half last October's figure.
Zeekr and Deepal
Zeekr delivered 32,483 cars (up 51.6% on a year ago, but down on September), and Changan's Deepal sold 32,602 globally.
BYD: 490,168 in October, and a battery-electric record
BYD sold 490,168 new energy vehicles in October 2026, up 11.0% on the 441,706 it sold a year earlier and its highest monthly total of 2026, ahead of September's 463,561.
The standout figure is battery-electric cars. BYD sold 305,743 battery-electric passenger cars, up 37.4% year on year and the first time it has passed 300,000 in a single month. Plug-in hybrid passenger car sales fell 17.2% to 177,382.
Overseas sales reached 170,194, more than double last October and about a third of the total. Commercial vehicles added 7,043, and the company produced 488,104 vehicles in the month.
Across January to October, BYD has sold 3,621,744 vehicles, still 2.2% behind the same period last year.

Why it matters for buyers outside China
Several of these brands, including Leapmotor, Xpeng, Zeekr and Deepal, are expanding into export markets. Strong volumes at home usually mean more models and sharper pricing abroad.
