Compact EVs are becoming a realistic second-car or city-car option in Pakistan, and the Kaiyi e-Qute 04 and JMEV EV3 approach the brief differently. The e-Qute 04 emphasises battery capacity and equipment, while the EV3 counters with a stronger listed motor in a similarly city-friendly footprint.
Brochure range alone should not decide the purchase. Charging access, warranty terms, cabin use, dealer support and real motorway requirements can matter more than the largest number on a specification sheet.
Battery and claimed range
The comparison centres on specific variants. Public Pakistan launch material for the longer-range e-Qute 04 lists a 39.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a claimed range of up to 400 km on the NEDC cycle. Public information for the EV3 Comfort lists a 30.24 kWh LFP battery and a claimed 330 km range.
Those figures are laboratory claims, not promises. Air-conditioning, speed, temperature, elevation, passengers and battery age affect actual distance. NEDC can be especially optimistic compared with sustained motorway use. Both models are reported with AC charging and DC fast-charging capability in relevant variants. Buyers must confirm the connector, maximum charging rate, supplied cable and home charger terms in writing. A “30 to 80 percent” claim only becomes useful when paired with an actual charger output and battery temperature.
Home charging is the strongest ownership case. Before booking, ask an electrician to inspect the parking location, earthing and sanctioned load. Check rear-seat headroom, boot access, spare-wheel or puncture-kit provision, child-seat mounts and the number of airbags. Also inspect the infotainment language, smartphone support and availability of software updates. Costs beyond the sticker

The Kaiyi e-Qute 04 is the stronger fit for buyers who prioritise the larger published battery and longer claimed range. The JMEV EV3 makes a case for itself through its stronger listed motor and potentially sufficient city range.
The deciding factor should be the ownership ecosystem. Verify local price, stock, service coverage, parts support, battery warranty and charging equipment on the same day. Then test both with the passengers who will use them. The better entry EV is the one that completes your routine with a comfortable reserve and can be supported locally.
Before the final decision, request an insurance quotation that explicitly covers the traction battery and charging cable. Also ask how accident repairs, battery diagnostics and software faults are handled outside the main city. A modest price difference can quickly lose importance if one option has substantially better support near your home.
